Member Feature: Shannon Bardwell
Delta born and bred, Shannon Bardwell waltzed in, planted her feet in the Black Belt Prairie in Lowndes County and spread her arms wide to embrace all of what it and the surrounding communities have to offer. Shannon shares her discoveries, along with her delightful drawings in her weekly column, Possumhaw, in the Commercial Dispatch. Describe Shannon to someone, and you’ll use words such as “twinkly,” “curious,” “enthusiastic,” “generous,” “spirited,” “open-minded,” “big-hearted,” and “mischievous.” It’s no surprise that she’s a member of the 100+ Women Who Care Columbus. Here’s what Shannon has to say….
“100 Women Who Care allows women to make a huge impact on the community in a few hours with a relatively small investment to programs likely unknown. No selling candy, cards, or wrapping paper. When a deserving program gets a $10K award, it’s an unbelievably good feeling knowing you’ve made a difference in people’s lives.”
Thank you, Shannon, for being one of more than 100 other amazing women making a difference in someone else’s life.
